Because of the Lotus symbiotically fuses fine art with digital art
I joined the ‘Because of the Lotus’ team in 2017. Pat, Moe and Dan’s approach to technology and art is really in alignment with mine. After photographing the installation at a few festivals I took on a larger role on the team, live projection mapping and working with the EEG. I continue to document the installation, aiming to capture that unique interaction between the viewer and the art.
Paintings and murals are brought to life using projection mapping techniques, laser projections, original animations, and virtual reality. Our EEG Biofeedback program has quickly developed over the last year, and provides the participant with a tool to access a powerful mind/body connection they may have never before experienced. By monitoring live brainwave activity (using a wireless EEG headset), and applying it to digital effects in art our participant can control the projections with their patterns of thought.
The Because of the Lotus installation has displayed over 100 times at some of the world'spremier music and arts festivals and fairs, including Suwannee Hulaween, Alex and Allyson Grey's Chapel Of Sacred Mirrors, Zach Deputy Tour, Wild Woods, and many more.
